Hi, I've seen the light, and have seen what a nice package fetchmail is, and I've tried to set it up as suggested in the Offline-Mail howto.
Yes. Fetchmail is great. I've used it for years.
The problem I'm having is that my password is rejected. I tried pmail also, and my isp mail server rejects the password.
Well I've looked into it a bit, and it seems that it is an APOP password challenge. It is in the fetchmail docs. I need to figure out how to get to popauth on the server and change
I skimmed the man page too. It "seems" like this may be a apop problem. What did you see that convinced you it was apop problem? Did you try a username like zentara instead of zentara@...?, like someone else suggested? I tried putting a bad username in my .fetchmailrc and it reacted exactly like yours did. So it may be a bad username... Don't discount your isp without at least asking for help. You never know who's on the other end. Maybe someone good. My current isp providing dialup runs Redhat and seems very professional the few times I have approached them. My shell only account also runs Redhat and is good too. I dropped Mindspring (a US National) because of poor service from Houston.
the APOP password. Then I'm afraid I'll mess up Netscape's APOP setup.
Can I have 2 APOP passwords? One for netscape and another for fetchmail?
Sorry, no experience with apop. Try searching dejanews. Good luck.
