Happened to use 'smart' when the latest 10.0 kernel change came along. As far as I can tell, everything was installed properly. When I later did 'apt-get update', it warned me the kernel -default and -syms and -default-nongpl and -source packages were duplicated on my system. Had not realized that the 'smart' update had left the previous versions of those packages still sitting on my system. To keep 'apt-get' happy, I manually removed the leftover versions of those packages. mikus
