I had a similar problem and it turned out to be related to the video card. I have an Nvidia 550 Ti and the OS supplied nouveau driver is very poor. After switching to an Nvidia supplied driver the problems cleared up. You might try a different video driver to see if that has any effect on your problem.
I'm not seeing the cursor disappear in fvwm. Also not seeing cursor warping all over the screen, which seems to happen only with KDE3 so far.
Actually I had a very similar problem with an ATI video (on board) that disappeared when I changed to their proprietary driver. The mouse cursor would disappear or sometimes blink on/off so slowly it looked like it disappeared when hanging over almost any menu.
Can't change drivers: Only the Silicon Motion driver still works so far and that one has been broken or crippled since Silicon Motion stopped supporting X on their hardware. No longer have accel, 3d or hardware cursor, etc. jd -- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
