Suse 8.0 and dhcp

Hello: I have a problem. Id installed Suse 8.0 and can not connect with my ISP. I have configured defaults options in network basics, but when linux try up the network show this message: eth0 ...... no IP address yet.....backgrounding if I write ifstatus eth0 command says that dhcpcd daemon is not loaded. I have tried of all but nothing, but Mandrake 8.2 and windows works fine with your defaults option. Can anybody help me, please? P.D. I've a cable connection
