[opensuse] Reinstall KDE4.

I had updated KDE4 to the most recent version 4.01. Now when I start it , none of the widgets (icons?) are shown. There are just items containing the message that the object cannot be displayed. In addition there is no wallpaper or taskbar. One possibility that comes to mind is that I never removed prior versions before installing a new version. What would be the best way to remove what is there so that a new install would be on fresh ground (so to speak). Thanks for any comments...
