NEWBIES -*- PAY ATTENTION: During the process of learning linux I went through MANY installation sessions. You can really learn a lot that way. One of the things I learned is to have a separate partition where I keep anything I want to save when re-installing a distro, particularly configuration files and sources for non-distro files I have downloaded. Hope this saves folks some time.
