When I go into YAST I get this after clicking on the printer icon: Cups daemon died during initialization
My first step at troubleshooting this was to do this:
linux:/etc/cups # /etc/init.d/cups start Starting cupsd done linux:/etc/cups # cupsd: Child exited with status 98! linux:/etc/cups #
..As you can see I couldn't start cups from the shell either. I've spent about 20 minutes googling and looking over the list, but cant seem to find a resolution to this problem. Printing did work fine at one time. I'm not sure if I updated a cups related package via red-carpet, or if this just happened out of the blue.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Ryan
You should first look at /var/log/cups/error_log and see what errors it is posting. If you can't work out what is wrong from the log, post the relevant section to this list and someone will help you out. -- Regards, Graham Smith
