Ok my bad. I shouldn't have given my repo. Both awesome and pekwm are not for newcomers. Especially with the current storm in x11 changes it is even difficult for the experienced ones to sort out what the heck has gone wrong. I suggest if you want to stay within the safe guards of 12.1 uninstall everything that came from my repo and go back to the version came with 12.1
Sorry for the mess
Togan
Hi Togan, I have several systems installed on this laptop. I have Win7 because it came with the computer, opensuse 11.4 installed because it works and it is the operating system I normally use, Mandriva because the cooling fan works most times on this laptop with this system, and opensuse 12.1. I installed opensuse 12.1 because I want to guage the progress of the release. At present, wireless networking is a pain to use because it is so unreliable, and the cooling fan on this laptop doesn't work well with 12.1. So I don't keep anything on the release, its just for playing with to see if the release ever gets fixed to the point I could use it as the primary operating system on this laptop. This release is the one that I installed awesome and pekwm on. They didn't work, so I thought that you might want to know about the problems since you have developed the repository for awesome. I thought that if I could provide you with the appropriate data, you might be able to come up with a fix. I wasn't trying to blame you for any problem at all. I don't consider having to reinstall the 12.1 release a problem, it is just easier for me to start again then to send out a lot of messages to the list trying to get a problem fixed. I want to thank you for providing the repository, and I look forward to when you get the bugs worked out so I can use awesome and pekwm. I did try to install awesome and pekwm on a second computer, a desktop that I have here at home. I had the same results as I did on my laptop, neither will start and after crashing I end up back at the login screen. So if there is some data that I may provide you to help you figure out what is going wrong, please ask and I will try to send it to the list for your consideration.
