Software I would like to update is Thunderbird, Firefox, and OOo.
these applications have very convenient native installers (from the own site), so no real need to go through openSUSE for them
BETTER to go to openSUSE buildservice for the updates, then we will not have nearly as many questions about particular changes suseusers have applied that are not available or "don't work" the same. Brings to mind the very long threads about the "Reply-to-List" function no being available on thunderburd mailer.....
All the latest Firebird and Thunderbird:

For Yast use:

Tnx Billie, for te above. I viewed them and decided initially to add the Yast one to my update sources but when it told me it couldn't verify the sender/file, I decided to take Marcus' advice and wait until the newer versions are released so that opensuseupdater can pick up the updates. Wish they would release updates major updates though ie OOo. Regards Hylton -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
