Ok double barrelled question here.
Im relatively a newbie when it comes to linux so excuse me if I sound a bit dumb.
1) hows linux for sata raids (mirrored). Am I going to hit any snags? Are there any particular boards/chipsets to stay clear of? Im plumping for a Intel-32bit cpu (possibly a Prescott 3.2ghz)
After reading up on SATA at linuxmafia.com, I obtained an Adaptec 2810SA card. It was a disaster. If you're using any 2.6 kernel prior to 2.6.11, don't use any Adaptec card that requires the aacraid module. http://kerneltrap.org/node/3778?from=0&comments_per_page=100 Jason Joines =================================
