-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I need to copy some files to an USB stick (FAT). The problem is, the files have a ":" on their names, and Thunar (XFCE) says the name is invalid, but does not offer as an option to change the name. So the question is: do you know a file browser that does offer to change the name, or even better, changes the name automatically? I try another file browser called "Files". It does change the ":" to "_", but it also changes the "ñ" to "_" which is not correct, as fat does accept the ñ, and it would be more correct to change to 'n'. There is "gnome-commander", which allows change the destination name if you try before pressing enter to go ahead. BUT, not if I select several files to copy. Midnight commander does not allow edit. Well, it does, in a cumbersome manner. Krusader can't. On multiple select it offers to skip. On single file it does not allow to edit name. It fails, and does not say the reason, just "can not copy", retry, cancel. PCManFM-Qt... simply crashes when asked to copy two such files! Tried twice. Others? Specially if you know they work, changing names for FAT media correctly. - -- Cheers Carlos E. R.
