I will admit that there are things that Windows can do that Linux does not have the functionality to do right now. Like play a few games that I cannot get to work under Wine/WineX. But there will come a time that I will be able to run them under Linux so in the mean time, I go about my life with the two on my same HDD. Just please quit with the belly aching. If it is that hard, please ask for help besides whining that it doesn't work but it works under Windows. If the list is too slow, Call in for paid support. There are options to try. we need to focus on helping out people with Linux problems and finding solutions instead of complaining!
Pretty much hits where it lives. If those in the OSS community listened to all the whiners, trolls, and nay-sayers Linux would still be sitting on some HDD on Linus' computer in Finland. Linux is what you make it. People are so used to have things spoon fed to them to the point that if they actually have to work then they blow a gasket and think it's broken. Fact of the matter is the advances in Linux in the time since it's inception compared to the advances in M$ products has been much much faster. Linux is essence is adhering to Moore's Law insofar that every 18 to 24 months the present Linux is at least two fold more functional and with a broader range of support then the previous iterations of 18+ months past. Frankly, one of the primary reasons of this is the combination of developers, business people, and end-users refusing to give into the windows mindset of pessimism and to get on wtih it - that is make Linux work by learning, teaching, testing, and pushing the boundries. I agree and think your statement is true regarding Troll bait and the thread being insightful but over The Linux community will have the last word because those that don't get it or don't like because of what ever reason will drop it. And those numbers are becoming less and less. Linux isn't going away! <climbs off soapbox yet again> Cheers, Curtis.
