Which package should I expect to provide the java plugin for Firefox? I do not see java in about:plugins, and web pages complain it is not found. Installed are:
java-1_6_0-openjdk java-1_6_0-openjdk-plugin java-1_6_0-sun
I would have thought it would be in java-1_6_0-openjdk-plugin. I wonder why both Sun and the openJDK versions are installed. Shouldn't it be enough to have one or the other?
Multiple JRes can be installed... not sure why both are installed
Install java-1_6_0-sun-plugin (and switch architecture of java-1_6_0-sun to i586) to get a confirmed working plugin.
That of course did it. I wonder why the openjdk was installed. It must have been done by the openSUSE 11.2 install. As you can tell, I don't use java plugins in firefox so much here at work. I was trying to check out the openSUSE Live site. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
