I have a Brother HL-1660 laser printer fitted with a NetJet network card and I am trying to configure this to work with my SuSE 8.1 system. This system has worked in the past, set up for me by someone else, but due to a reinstall and my failier to save the /etc/printcap file, I have to start again. I can ping the printer and I understand that the NetJet has a built in LPD server. Here is my non-working /etc/pintcap :- printer1:\ :lp=lp@192.168.1.10:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/printer1:\ :lf=cat:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/printer1/acct:\ :if=/usr/lib/lpdfilter/bin/if:\ :la@:\ :tr=:cl:lk:sh: I am not confident about the 'lp=' entry, should this work? The log file only reinforces my doubts :- 2003-01-24-12:19:28.083 mine printer1: Printer_open: printer 'printer1', bad 'lp' entry '192.168.1.10' -- Colin SpudULike@blueyonder.co.uk A man for all seasons, 'specially pepper.
