on everything. My assumption is that I've done something nasty with regard to NIS or NIS+. However, I don't have anything installed.
I did hit the NIS Yast tool by accident yesterday and when it asked me to install the NIS packages I realized what I did wrong and backed off.
If you backed off before installing it then it /shouldn't/ be that, but YaST may have dumbly written out some default or place-holder settings. Check for the existance and contents of /etc/defaultdomain /etc/hosts and /etc/HOSTNAME
Unfortunately, YAST made some assumptions that I can't undo.
You mean "that I don't know how to undo" surely...
Now I either have to configure NIS (not good for only one machine) or hopefully someone can help me figure out what I need to undo here.
