The quickest way is from console 1 (Ctl-Alt-F1) run "init 3". Also, in /etc/inittab change runlevel to 3. You can also use YaST to configure the run level. Lucky Leavell wrote:

As an alternative to the minimal install, I would like to either remove KDE and X11 or at least disable them. What is the least painful way to do this?
