Hi, as a linux-newbie I'd assumed that I'd managed to mess up the download, so I was highly relieved to find this thread. I ran "echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/heap-stack-gap" and lo and behold HelloWorld compiles. Hoorah! (And thanks!) A question though: When I reboot the box the heap-stack-gap will once more be set to 128. How do I change this in the kernel so that it doesn't need to be manually reset to 1 each time? (I had a quick look-see but am too dumb to be able to work it out!) thanks, Steve -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
