What about Google Chromecast, does it play flac? Google says yes, via Chrome.

FLAC (up to 96kHz/24-bit)
Is that Ok?
Chromecast will play FLAC files streamed to it from any app that plays them on a phone or tablet eg Tidal.
There is a difference, though. Some videos are converted on the phone and the converted stream is sent via network to the chromecast. This is bad. Other videos the device can play directly, and hopefully download himself without the phone intervention at all (except as remote control, kinda) There is also the question of what streams it can download directly from the LAN. hhtp, samba, nfs, ssh? Well, it appears the chromecast plays directly flac "up to 96kHz/24-bit". If you want more, the phone does the playing, then sends (probably lossy) to the chromecast. Thus my question. Is "up to 96kHz/24-bit" good enough? I don't remember. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
