I am utilizing a dual boot system with win2000 on the primary drive and SuSe8.2 on the slave. I believe that my windows system has a virus that is damaging my Linux drive. I have formatted the primary drive several times using the M$ install disks and within a few minutes of use the M$ drive slows to a crawl. I have also formatted and reinstalled Suse. Once i reboot and utilize SuSe the root system appears to have been damaged which causes a reduced performance. All hardware except the hard drives is new and has been tested 4x for problems at a reliable shop... the tech stated that the primary drive appears to have a problem with data loss(he had trouble loading drivers on the M$ drive). All other hardware appears normal to extensive tests. Dose Suse have a disc scan program? Can i perform a low level format using Suse? Any suggestions? Note: Suse performance does not degrade unless i boot into Windoze (i foolishly tried to download M$ patches). I am not a programmer and have not been able to check the data base to see if these questions have been asked before. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
