And now, imo, it's time to try WvDial. Follow the instructions in Install, and you'll be all set. WvDial virtually automates your entire ppp-dialup process from identifying the modem to setting an optimized init string. All you need to do is enter 3 pieces of information: you ISP's phone number; your username; and password.
