HI all...
I got my CD burner up and running today. BUTTTTT I'm makeing one mess after another. Can someone give me an idea what to do? First I tried to burn some mp3 files to CD. It seemed to work, but when I later tried to mount the new CD among other errors there was this:
ISOFS: unable to read i-node block
Also during the starting of the burn the system opened and closed the tray 2 or 3 times. ############ Later I tried again with some data files, most zip, html, txt, etc. This time the burn went even better and the tray did not open at all. BUT when I tried to mount it I got:
mount: Not a directory
Any ideas?
Thanks
JIM
I use KreateCD with no problems - but I have to throttle back the burn speed to no more than 8x (the drive can do up to 48x theoretically!) and make sure I do not do anything else on the system (especially involving lots of i/o) whilst the burn is going on. Keep an eye on the buffer - it should not drop much below about 90% during the burn. Not sure if this helps, but might be worth a try if you are burning at high speed and getting bad disks.
