Hi Pete, after some testing I discovered that the problem was latency related and found that setting PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 solved the problem. I usually repackage rpms from skype site, for a better tuning to openSUSE, before publishing the latest ones I applied a very simple patch to solve the issue. Hi Paul, skype problem seems to be related to the latest pulse server. I packaged myself patched rpms for openSUSE 13.1. I made the packages available from my web site in the hope they may be useful. http://www.teodori.org/repository/utilities/opensuse13.1/current.html Regards, Francesco
Could you elaborate on what the problem and the fix was?
Thank you, Pete

Hi all,
Just installed 13.1 and have discovered a few issues with audio.
I noticed I get no system sounds (I.e. Notifications, login etc)
Also, Skype does not allow me to make any calls and says 'Problem with audio playback'
