do I need to do anything extra apart from installing the suse kernel rpms. eg recompile pcmcia stuff.
I ask, because up until now, I compiled pcmcia stuff by hand and never seemed to get the boot sequence working properly, ie nfs used to fail because pcmcia hadnt finished initialising.

I can't answer your first question, but I can tell you how to fix the NFS problem that you describe. When you use PCMCIA network, the NFS mounts to be mounted when the network is started must be called out in the /etc/pcmcia/network.opts file. You'll see the line: # NFS mounts, should be listed in /etc/fstab MOUNTS="" Place the space-delimited mount points there, and they will be mounted. -ronc
