After fighting the new (proprietary) ATI Radeon driver for three days, I decided to revert to the Xorg drivers, but I have run into problems. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. I removed the ATI driver and the kernel sources via rpm. I also ran modprobe -r to remove the fglrx module (the ATI driver module). I then did a modprobe radeonfb to install the original kernel module, and changed my XF86Config (I copied the backup I had previously made). However, whenever I reboot the ATI module still loads, and I must modprobe to get things correct. I obviously have missed something incredibly simple, but the brain is frazzled....
