My AIC 7850 SCSI card can't boot from SCSI disk. So I can install MBR only on IDE disk.
I had a similar problem with Tekram UW controller. I installed lilo on a diskette with the only option to boot linux --> works fine. This is lilo.conf i used to create the diskette: --------------start------------ boot = /dev/fd0 # or your root partition delay = 10 # delay, in tenth of a second (so you can interact) vga = 0 # optional.
