No it is the ability to have your addressbook contacts sorted as for instance i have a group called QMC and another QMC-Comm Friends and so on if i choose only members of QMC are listed and no others apart from crossovers from other groups
Right, that's what I thought. I poked around in the KDE forums a bit.. seems it's not possible in the 4.4.4 release. They reworked the distribution lists thing and called it Groups... from what I read in the little digging I did on KDE.org it seems that some of the missing functionality is coming back in a post 4.5 release.. I didn't find anything about which release it's targeted for.
And i do wish we could get away from this reliance on databases in every application as for Mysql well never could see the need for something like that on a desktop it is a server function and thats where it needs to stay .
Every app is doing it.. even Firefox. I can see the point... scalability.. reliability.. no more flat file storage. It does introduce now issues though.
Sure hope so cus it not up to much right now fortunately the laptop is still is still on 11.2 KDE 3.5.10 and working fine just means i have to get the lappy out just to do mailing labels ect or Committee lists bit annoying when i got a desktop on all the time with several times the power
I poked the KDE PIM bug list, but nothing jumped out at me as specific to this feature. It might be worth taking a look there to see if your specific need/request is tracked at bugs.kde.org If not it'll be in your interest to raise a new bug and remind the devs of the feature.
