Hi. I installed 7.2 last night (eventually, see other mail :-) ), and I decided to start playing with my TV card to see if I could get it working. It's a Happauge Win/TV PCI NICAM card. Following the SuSE configuration manual, I did the necessary edits to modules.conf (although I'm not sure they're correct), added the necessary modules (it seemed to autodetect most of the hardware OK, and booted up xawtv. All seemed to be going well (snowy picture because I had no aerial plugged in, and no sound because I'd not plugged it in to my sound card). However, after a while, changing channels, it locked up. Totally. No mouse, keyboard, anything. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del didn't work. I had to use the hard reset button to recover. After rebooting and fscking, I tried again. This time, it locked up almost immediately, before I'd even OK-ed the dialog box that pops up when starting xawtv. So, where do I start debugging this? The moment the problem manifests itself, I lose all control over the machine. I had xawtv working reliably under 6.4, albeit without any sound, because sound chip on my card was not supported under the version of the relevant drivers at the time I tried to get it working. Anyone got any ideas?
