It's not really a kernel option, it's implemented by iproute2.
Well, to reformulate: I wish to set up a PC with two NICs and two default routes (multiple default routes). For this I guess I will have to create a separate table ( I am following this howto: https://kindlund.wordpress.com/2007/11/19/configuring-multiple-default-route... Just I wondered wether there are major differences between the flow in Leap vs Gentoo (that was the base of the howto).
