Hi Viewers,
I'm hoping someone can help me out with the only remaining niggle (hopefully) that I have with my very first Linux install. I am using SUSE Linux Professional 9.1 and having problems with 4-speaker sound. Basically only my front speakers work, the two rear speakers are silent.
YaST picked the CS4614/22/24 CrystalClear Sound Fusion Audio Accelerator driver for my Videologic Sonic Fury soundcard. This works beautifully with two speakers, however I do feel slightly cheated that only half my speaker system is actually playing ball! I have mucked about with all the different sound levels in YaST but the two rear speakers continue to make as much noise as a dead parrot encased in cotton wool.
Please can somebody let me know if they have had the same problem with 4-speakers under SUSE 9.1 and if so did they manage to sort it out? Please be gentle with your response. As I mentioned at the start of this message, this is my first Linux install and it is one hell of a sharp learning curve for this here user! -- Hi David,
You should also try the main SUSE list: suse-linux-e@suse.com . I have cc this reply to that list, but do subscribe there also; it is the best place for new SUSE'rs. PeterB p.s.
