I have my root partition on a 4gb scsi hd attached to an Adaptec AHA2940 Ultra. On the card I have 2 such scsi hard disks and a cd-r drive- All works without any errors in windows 95. I Frequently get timeout errors when accessing the hard disk. The SCSI bus is then reset after a while of unresponsiveness. I checked the support database but did not see anything specific regarding this adapter- I changed the transfer rate down to 10 meg but that didn't seem to help.
The curious part about it is when I was installing the OS I wasn't getting the error- It only happened once I rebooted the box after the installation. The installation program found all the scsi devices without any problems. Any ideas?
Without _any_ information about the kernel and driver versions it is essentially impossible to help. Try a new kernel with a new driver (2.0.36). If the problem persists, check termination and cabling. -o) Hubert Mantel Goodbye, dots... /\\ _\_v - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
