Does anyone know where I can get mysql version 5 for SuSE 9.3?
There are 5.0 and 5.1 rpms for 10.0 in the buildservice: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=mysql&baseproject=SUSE%3ASL-10. 0 , if you're lucky, it'll work on 9.3 too. If not, you can take the src.rpm and rebuild.
I really wouldn't install RPMs built for 10.0 on 9.3 - you'll be heading for a world of pain. Rebuilding _might_ work but...
I really should upgrade
Definitely.
Second this sentiment. An upgrade really shouldn't take all weekend.
