Hi,
I have posted a bit long message on general impressions on using SuSe with IBM T42p. Now something more precise. When I try to play DVD or copy contents to hdd I am getting the following errors (dmesg): -------------------------------------------------------------- end_request: I/O error, dev hdc, sector 1752 Buffer I/O error on device hdc, logical block 219 hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } hdc: command error: error=0x50 ide: failed opcode was 100
Hi, Maybe it's not related, but could help, because I got similar errors, when I tried to let the automount mount my backup DVD burned with UDF filesystem on my 9.1 box. Actually the DVD couldn't be mounted at all. After I asked the list, somebody (sorry, forgot the name) suggested me to do manual mount with "-t udf". I didn't need to 'modprobe udf' by hand, but you could need also that. I had no problems with this hint, and after a while I also completely deactivated the automount for all of my devices. Kind regards; just hope, that it helps. Peli
