After starting ipx_interface ifconfig shows this: lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Bcast:127.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0 UP BROADCAST LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:3584 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:1A:30:02:58 inet addr:193.83.200.51 Bcast:193.83.200.55 Mask:255.255.255.248 IPX/Ethernet 802.2 addr:00001A300258 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:41 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 TX packets:3 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 Interrupt:10 Base address:0x6000 DMA chan:4 dummy0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet addr:193.83.200.51 Bcast:193.83.200.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 I tried some combinations of ipx_configure but slist still writes: list: No server found in ncp_open I'm sure it's 802.2 and how you can see above I really got an adress. I used the adress part of ipx_interface because ipx_interface check eth0 802.2 showed an adress but the first part was 00000000 while it should be 00000a01. I got a little help of our sysop but he doesn't know anything about linux and I got to be one of the glad linuxguys only short time ago. :) The server got to be restarted several times since I first tried to do this. I don't want to kill my processor so my desktop doesn't run all the time. Running it above specification is a bit dangerous but: no risk, no speed :-) Please send response to Stefan.Seifert@Informatikbuero.com and not to the mailing-list. This is a little unusual but because of the huge amount of mails I got another e-mail adress for the list where I get the list-mails only once a day :-( Stefan Seifert E-Mail: Stefan.Seifert@Informatikbuero.com home: www.ifb.at/stefan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
