Why why why do people find it necessary to simply do a reply to all. How many have complained in the last two days about getting two copies of an email from some people on this list. If someone replies to a posting on this list it is because they are a member of this list and get a copy from the list server like everyone else. There is NO need to send to anything but the list unless asked otherwise. If your email client does not have a reply to list feature then when you hit reply to all edit the To: line and remove the individuals email address. This is not that hard and does not takes hours of your time to do so. And yes I see many gmail people do it all the time even after being asked not to because gmail doe not support this feature. Seems to me that using LDAP and the address book feature of an email program would fit the bill without having to re-invent the wheel.
You might find the Euphoria programming language worth investigating: http://www.rapideuphoria.com/index.html
Good luck
