After some investigation I found the following behaviour.
In some way a .mp3 file extension is associated with the .mpeg file extension.
If I change the setting for .mpeg to clementine first, my .mp3 file is played with clementine.
Thats also not what I want, mp3 should be audio and .mpeg should be video, correct ? Audio should be played with clementine or amarok and video should be played by vlc or kaffeine.
But if both are recognized as .mpeg how should I make the difference?
where exactly do you set these settings? KDE systemsettings -> file associations?
in there i get different file type settings for audio & video. setting video 'mpeg' (which contains a lot of different possible file endings (mod, mpe, mpeg,...) to a video player DOES NOT affect my setting for the audio file type 'mpeg', which in my case contains only the possible endings *.mp3 & *.mpga.
i suspect that you have been setting either one or the other, but not both to whichever app. you want to start the files.
I think I found the problem, there is no mimetype audio/mp3 there is only a mimetype audio/mpeg and there is a mimetype video/mpeg. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
