Hi all,
I've got a new laptop an Asus K501UX. Originally it had Freedos which I intended to delete and install Leap instead. Installation was smooth from USB, but the installed system does not start. I get seemingly the same error message at least fifty times. This is a one row message containing the word nouveau, so I think the problem is with the video driver. The login screen is not displayed, the system hangs.
Any experience out there with this card?
Regards, Albert
Are you sure it's NVIDIA only? Not Intel+NVIDIA?
What happens if you boot with 'nomodeset'.
As far as I know, it has only Nvidia, but will have a look at it. How could I set nomodeset, once I cannot login? Please help!
Albert
In the GRUB boot menu, hit "e" Move the cursor to the end of the kernel boot line, after "showopts" add a space and "nomodeset" ( without quotes ). -- Gertjan Lettink, a.k.a.
