Hi all
I've stuffed my config by using "zypper dup" - it seems to have stuffed the Xorg/X11/Nvidia config as i can't load X now. its the old mismatch of Nvidia and X11-video-nvidiaG02, they are both 190.53 but the nvidia-gfxg02 is a couple of minor releases higher - is there any reason for them to produce these complimentary files on the Nvidia.com site when they don't match?
is it possible to use zypper to restore the previous config? I don;t want to have to reinstall from DVD unless i have to.
thanks
Probably I had the same issue (or similar). I´m on 11.1 and after Nvidia update X would not start. I understood that somehow nvidia built the driver nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-pae-195.36.15_2.6.27.45_0.2-11.2.i586.rpm against kernel 2.6.27.45_0.2 while current kernel for 11.1 is 2.6.27.45_0.1. I did some ¨dirty¨ stuff - has just copied all modules from /lib/modules/2.6.27.45-0.2-pae/updates to /lib/modules/2.6.27.45-0.1-pae/updates and did depmod -a and voila... X is back. -- Mark Goldstein -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
