Maybe repost your question specifically mentioning chrony.
I have disabled Chrony and enabled ntp. Both do the same with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. One thing I've noticed is that both occur within a couple of seconds. Then, after about 64 seconds, they both repeat again. On the occasions when there are 2 IPv4 or IPv6 together, they're again about about 64 seconds apart.
