On Sat, 03 Aug 2002, Art just had to get this off his chest:
Does anyone know of a terminal program along the lines of the Windows Hyperterminal for Linux? I have tried the minicom but had no success with it.
What's wrong with minicom? It always worked without a problem for me anyway. You could also have a look at ckermit, but this might be a bit intimidating at first when you compare it to hyperterminal (it's an order of magnitude more powerfull of course, but it has no buttons to push). For minicom you need to make a minirc.dfl with minicom -s as root first, after that you can use it as luser aswell. Otoh I wouldn't be surprised if someone already produced a nice app for gnome or kde, but I'm not very up to date with the latest/greatest graphical apps so you have to look. Theo -- Theo v.
