Maybe this is more to the point?
In order to force all links that open in a new window to load in a background tab, type about:config in the URL bar and change browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground to true.
Have you tried it?
Yes I have. No it does not work.
WFM! If it is true FF stays in background and doesn't pop to front, but if it is false FF popped to the top.
Not so. Perhaps once but not here, now for me. Not in my context. Sorry. I don't know about you but I have to sweep the floor regularly to clear up all the punctured pretty balloons :-) I think this might have to do with when you are running FF in multi-window mode. In that case its about operating completely withing FF. I'm running it with all the tabs in one window. I'm also using TabMixPlus. I'm convinced this has to do with focus steal in KDE but my experiments there are failing, possibly though lack of knowledge, possibly because of the cache. If its not KDE then its to do with Thunderbird giving up the focus. -- /"\ \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML Mail / \ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
