If there's one thing that makes this list different from most mailing lists, it's the absence complete help links at the bottom of each list post. <snip>
I can't answer to that. The FAQ would, I imagine, be more list-oriented than distro-oriented. There are many articles and how-to's on opensuse.org as well as various articles at novell.com
What SUSE users need is a very obvious place to start. SUSE is not my whole life, so I don't know which of the following possibilities or others is _the_ right place to start: help.novell.com help.novell.org help.opensuse.com help.opensuse.org help.suse.com help.suse.org help.susefaq.com help.susefaq.org help.suselinux.com help.suselinux.org help.susewiki.com help.susewiki.org susehelp.com susehelp.org susewiki.com susewiki.org wiki.suse.com wiki.suse.org www.novell.com www.novell.org www.opensuse.com www.opensuse.org www.suse.com www.suse.org www.susefaq.com www.susefaq.org www.suselinux.com www.suselinux.org www.susewiki.com www.susewiki.org Now, out of those 30, and any I didn't think of and however many more permutations might exist for non-English domains, guess how many showed up among the first 5 (in the browser viewport without scrolling down to see the rest) Google hits searching for "suse faq"? 0!. susewiki.org came in at #6. www.novell.com was #10. The other 8 were: susefaq.sourceforge.net susefaq.sourceforge.net sourceforge.net www.plainfaqs.org freshmeat.net 6 lwn.net librenix.com channels.lockergnome.com 10 Which, if any, is actually the best place to start? And if the best place to start isn't in that list, why isn't it? And why isn't it one of the appendages to the mailing list footer? What's the right answer when someone who's been told "check the FAQ" asks what that means? -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
