Didn't amavis give any reason for turning tits up? Nothing in a log file? It does take quite a bit of configuring in the conf file. As for antivir, just go to their site, apply for another software key, and get hold of the latest antivir mailgate stuff. It's all free for personal use That's what I did a couple of weeks ago. Haven't yet used it though as I have f-prot installed already. That's another free one that updates iself automatically, though it's only OK for small stuff because it doesn't run as a daemon. I'm a little surprised that amavis doesn't work as it's a SuSE package. Maybe a bit of perserverence will get it going? If you set up a separate logfile in the conf maybe it will leave a few more clues to its enigmatic behaviour. :)
