I have to vent my anger and frustration somewhere ..... okular really does not cut it for office work. For a whole hour now I've been trying to get it to print a PDF document with stamps on C5 envelopes, but without success. With Acrobat Reader this was no big deal, done in 5 minutes. With Okular, either I get nothing, something in the wrong format (wasted envelopes) or the job hangs in cups as "pending".
Can anyone explain what this "pending" status means? I've restarted cups once or twice, but every printjob we send ends up in "pending" status.
IMO it ultimately means CUPS isn't playing nice with your printer driver. Maybe there's a more appropriate driver you could try? Which do you have:
OS version?
Client = 13.2, server = 12.3
CUPS version? KDE version? Okular version? Printer model? Installed printer driver? Were any of above recently significantly upgraded? (e.g. 13.2 to TW?)
Nah, we don't dabble with TW around here, thyere's work to be done :-) The setup has not changed much, the printserver is 12.3, the clients are a mixture of all sorts.
The versions are largely irrelevant, it was all working fine yesterday when the invoices and the BESR slips were printed. The run just couldn't be finished because we ran out of envelopes.
