can't open or paste into netscape from kmail

Howdy. I'm running 7.2, and I normally use netscape as opposed to konquerer. I receive mail from my work that I need to be able to view and bookmark in netscape. When I click on a link in an email (in Kmail), konquerer opens up and displays the page. I do have the choice of selecting netscape to view the page, but when I do this, netscape opens my start page, only. The link I clicked on never comes up. Ok, fine, I'll simply copy the link to the clipboard and paste it into netscape --- except that netscape thinks that the clipboard is empty. Any suggestions as to what I can do to solve my problem?
