It is a known bug in Leap42.1 (besides BT in this version works very badly, problems with Obex and with headphone profiles). The good news is: AFAIK (at least with beta3 if we did not have regression also with the current RC) the BT support of the new 42.2 seems finally to work correctly. In the meanwhile, although I haven't tried, I would claim if the OP calls the module with modprobe he should be able to "regain" access to his dongle. Did not try though.
