Mind if I chime in??? I assume that you have a dual-boot process, i.e. Windows and linux are on the same HDD?? If that is so, I suggest that you use a program called: ranish partition manager available from: http://www.users.intercom.com/~ranish/part/part.zip It is a DOS based program, and it should be able to verify that (a): your partition table (fstab, fat, etc) is set to the correct geometry, and (b): can verify this for you. I hope that helps, Thomas Adam "The Linux Weekend Mechanic" -- <www.linuxgazette.com> A Student at the "Southampton Institute", Southampton, Hants, ENGLAND
