The 2008/03/07 date is for the latest v2.x release, not for the one I (and not a few others) continue to use (v1.95). The latter is, in fact venerable, which doesn't mean that it is unusable or even inferior, in its own terms. It does everything that I want it to do, and it is rock-solid reliable in my experience.
