Its a trivial matter to disable xconsole from running. In my case, I wish to let it run when KDM is running. However, every other time I log into X that ROOT OWNED xconsole will also be running on my NON ROOT X session. I thought this was against all X policy. The thing that bugs me about all this is that its not consistent: sometimes xconsole will be running when I log in, and sometime it will not. I want to run xconsole on my own, which is easy to do. But I don't want to close the root-owned xconsole when it starts up. Any suggestions? On Tue, Apr 25, 2000 at 09:16:58PM +0200, Lenz Grimmer wrote:

Curious.. where is the option to not load xconsole by default? I can't seem to find the script for it..
Have a look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm way down at the bottom.
And the file name to look at is "Xsetup_0". Sorry for the confusion :)
