This is a Diamond Supra Express 336i PnP asvd. Love those long acronym rich titles, don't you? I have one on each of my machines. On one box, my BIOS is easily told to leave the PnP crap alone. The other board is nearly brand new and not so easy to fiddle with. I don't know yet if I can manually change the IRQ or not, but I am willing to try. I do remember this modem being VERY difficult to setup even under the "miraculous" Windows 95. In fact, I haven't heard anyone else mention this modem except to say they couldn't make it work in Linux. :/
I would be very interested in anything you could forward me from Avery as I am writing a html on connecting with Linux for my ISP and I am sure I will run into this again.
Actually, Avery Pennarun from WVDial has just sent me an extensive set of options to try. I am of course short of time this weekend. I'm a photographer, so Saturdays are my game. I will stay in touch, Ken. You, also, have been extremely helpful.
I certainly know about weekends as a photographer. Years ago, I worked as a photographer on the New York/New Jersey society circuit. Shot 700 weddings in five years as I recall. Got to the point where they didn't make enough scotch and aspirin to get me through another one ;-) Ended up doing livestock photography in Texas at $1,500/day. -- ================================================================== Ken Archer - San Antonio, Texas "As soon as I get all my email - karcher@idworld.net penquins in a row I'll get right on it..."
