Hi,
I just dled the huge 70MB tar.gz file for OpenOffice 6.0 (in office, Windoze NT), burned it to a CD and tried to install here at home. I unpack this file, as it was told, I get an 'install' directory. And in this install directory, I have 297 new archives named f_00001 to f_00297 (or similar) and three normal files. One of them is 'setup'. Ok, I run setup, and it complains about the file 'setup.ins' which is not present. I agree, it actually isn't there :-(( Well, what's really puzzling me, if this file is in one of these 297 archives, I don't think they intentionally expect me to unpack all these 297 archives before installing, and so I think something might be wrong here ?!?!? Anyone got an idea? Or is the dled file corrupted and should I do a new 'clean' download on Linux?
I just downloaded and installed OpenOffice.org638C without as much as a hic-up! No errors at all! All of the applications run smoothly so far. This is the package i downloaded: install638C_linux_intel.tar.gz from here: http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/source/build_638c/build638c.html Cheers, Helgi Örn -- Frige Karolina Johnsson -- Skriv under Petitionen -------------------http://www.release.nu/------------------- Release Karolina Johnsson ------ Sign the Petition
